Friends of Acadia 32nd Annual Benefit and Auction

June's Cocktails for a Cause Class benefits Breakthrough Greater Boston, which prepares low-income students for success in college and trains the next generation of urban teachers using a unique Students Teaching Students model. Through their programming, they are building the next generation of teachers through competitive recruitment, research-based training, and coaching from master teachers.

We are hiring for the following positions:
Part Time Retail Sales and Tasting Room Server - Burlington
Come work in a fun and fast paced environment at our downtown tasting room and retail store. You must have a love of spirits, be comfortable talking to people, and quick on your feet! You will be trained to check in and cash out customers, stock the store, and serve tastings, simple food items and cocktails. 2 shifts per week to start and potential for more hours as Covid restrictions are lifted. Hourly wage depending on experience ($13-15/hr) plus tips in a tip pool. Everyone who works in our store is trained to do every job and we work as a team.

Sales and Marketing
This position could be part time (15 - 20 hours per week) or full time combined with a position in the store (see above), or combined with tastings at VT events to make a full time position, depending on your location. This is an entry level marketing position, responsible for executing our marketing plan. There are 5 components that need weekly attention, and you would be working from home in combination with visits to the distillery in Warren and the tasting room in Burlington (unless you were also working in the Burlington store.)
Website: update menus and information like hours and items in the online store.
Social media: post according to our social calendar and generate content.
Email: update email newsletter lists and generate draft email newsletters.
Marketing Materials: organize and keep up to date recipe files and photos, and generate new menus and selling materials using Canva.
Events: help plan and execute events, and keep the event calendar current on the website and on Facebook. Examples of events include cocktail classes, off-site tastings, and promotional events in our Burlington tasting room.
Computer skills are important as you will be using the following programs: Canva, Social platforms (IG/Facebook/YouTube), Excel, Outlook, Dropbox, FareHarbor, Square, WordPress, WooCommerce, and others! - 1.5oz RUM 44
- 3/4 oz Cinnamon Syrup
- 1/2 oz Lime Juice
- 1 oz Pineapple Juice
- 2 Dashes Angostura Bitters
- 4 Dashes Peychaud's Bitters
- Pineapple Prawn
Instructions
- Add all ingredients to a shaker without ice.
- Dry shake for about 8-15 seconds.
- Pour the contents over crushed ice in a Collins glass and swizzle.
- Top with Angostura Bitters, and Peychaud's Bitters.
- Garnish with Pineapple Prawn.

- Top with Fever Tree Ginger Ale, leaving 1 inch at the top of the glass.

- 3 Strawberries
Instructions
- Muddle 2 strawberries in a shaker.
- Add the rest of the ingredients to the shaker (without ice).
- Shake for about 15-20 seconds vigorously.
- Add ice to the shaker, and shake for another 10 seconds.
- Double strain into a chilled coupe glass.
- Garnish with sliced strawberries.
